The
Jewish Communities of Fez & Salonica
This video traces the history of two cities which once boasted vibrant
Jewish communities. From the 8th century until their immigration to Israel
in 1948, the Moroccan Jewish community of Fez sustained itself socially,
religiously and economically. In the second part, Salonica, the focus is
on the Jewish community's cultural achievements as well as the livelihood
of the population, which revolved mainly around the port.
